New York magazine’s Emma Rosenblum correctly identified [the movie] as the latest in a horrifying series of post-“Sex and the City” romantic comedies that portray women as monsters who must be transformed before they can be loved.Hogan noted, parenthetically:Somehow, Rossenblum’s rant neglected to fulfill the principal purpose of any magazine piece: to create a Zeitgeisty buzzword for the identified trend. May we suggest “rom-comster”?The formula is: ROM(antic)+COM(edies)+(mon)STER.
